The "It's Popcorn Night!" Collection

No doubt you have heard the stories of the Native Americans introducing the settlers to popcorn. However are you curious as to how it evolved into a beloved American snack? Well, yes, in the 1600’s, in the Great Lakes region, the Native American people, specifically the Iroquois, popped corn in heated pottery jars. Over 200 years later, in 1885, Chicago candy store owner Charles Cretors invented the electric popcorn maker. Cretors’ machine combined popcorn with butter and salt which became a well-known combination.
